In the evening of March 16th, The Ninth Guangdong University＆Middle School Students’ Spoken English Contest Overall Election is held in the lecture hall of primary school. Altogether 14 students from Huamei junior middle school, senior middle school and bond school participated in the contest, which is comprised of three parts.
The first part is prepared speech. With their unique methods and stories, the contestants show the audience their understanding of smile and opinions on Guangzhou Asia Games. The foreign teacher juries propose question based on the students’ speech. The second part is talent shows. Each player make every effort to display their forte. Performances such as English version<Farewell Cambridge>, classic English songs, minority dance, piano and lute performance, etc. win thundering applauses from the audience every now and then. The third part is English debates, centered on ‘Do high marks mean a high IQ’, there is an intense argument between the contestants, each of them express their views without reservation.
The students’ excellent English and versatility are highly praised by the 4 foreign teacher juries and other English teachers. After the fierce competition, the first eight contestants will participate in the second round election for Middle school students late this month. Let’s cheer for these elites and hope they can achieve more excellent results.
