On January 20th, 2010, the Committee of Guangdong Section of International English Contest---Selective Trials of Culture Communication Ambassador publicize the result of the contest. Several students in Huamei primary school gets excellent results, 6 students won the first awards, 10 for the second level awards, 18 for the third awards. Among them, 8 students were qualified for the national finals.
The International English Contest in Guangdong began on July 22nd, 2009 and hosted by Huamei School. We organize all contests from about half a year, providing classrooms and personnel all the way, and several international teachers from Huamei School act as judges. This is the first grand English contest in China themed on culture communication. The contest content are beyond the range of the text, mainly bases on introducing Chinese culture and emphasizes on oral expression and communication capability.
The purpose of the contest is to select some excellent youth with good command of English, especially one that can shoulder the task of communicating Chinese excellent culture, promoting culture communication, thus to enhance the understanding and friendship between China and other countries, let different cultures embrace, learn from each other, live in harmony, prosper together and create brilliant human civilization.
