Huamei Primary School Makes Children’s Dream Come True!

As the earliest section of Guangzhou Huamei International School, the primary school division reflects our dedication to each child and his/her individuality. Children take English lessons as soon as they step into the campus, bilingual education starts in Grade 1, and we integrate the Cambridge English curriculum with Chinese English curriculum, aiming to help construct a solid English foundation for our children.

For children, Huamei is a safe, fun place to learn and grow. Here, they develop a sense of belonging and sharing. They are nurtured in an environment that is warm, exciting, challenging and respectful. For teachers, it is a place where energies flow into creating meaningful learning opportunities for each student, and into enjoying a high degree of personal satisfaction by working with them. For parents, it is a place where their children are safe and secure, a place where communication is valued and guaranteed, and where they see themselves and are viewed by the school as an important and valued partner in the success of their children’s education.

Currently there are over 1000 lovely children from China (including Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macao) and other countries (e.g., Canada, Australia, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, etc.) enrolled in classes from Grade 1 to 6, studying in 34 classes (including an International Class of 18 students). Throughout the year they are taught and taken care of by 122 professional teachers and life assistants, 98% of them with college education background. In a whole week they have classes in Chinese, English, Math and Science. They are also enriched with classes of Computer, Music, Art, Oral English taught by foreign teachers, Reading in the library and Physical Education.

We begin providing bilingual education from Grade 1, and we integrate Cambridge English curriculum with Chinese English curriculum, giving our children an edge in the fundamentals of English. We also create communicative situations where students are encouraged and facilitated to apply their English knowledge to real use. In order to help the students to reach their potentials, we organize various clubs and activity groups, and give our children chances to present their talents in many occasions, such as the Oral English Competition and the magnificent Annual Christmas Party.

We provide students with the best living conditions. All dormitories are equipped with air-conditioners. Additionally, we have professional nutritionists preparing our weekly menus for the children, and birthday parties are held monthly. However, physical health is not the only concern of ours; we also have teachers tending to our students’ mental needs.
