As we close the first month of the new semester, lets reflect on what has happened during this month. There have been many celebrations since coming back to the new year at Huamei Kindergarten. We have celebrated the students coming back to school and opened our arms to the new students who have joined our kindergarten. To the new students, we welcome you! Not only this the students have enjoyed celebrating Women’s Day and the Lantern festival. The students have jumped back into learning and are always eager to learn more.

In the kindergarten we had a big welcome back ceremony. During the ceremony we held a flag raising ceremony and welcomed all our new students to the kindergarten. After singing the school anthem and having a dance all together all the students were given a balloon for the students to make a wish upon and released them into the sky. What a great way to welcome out students back as well as our new students joining the kindergarten.

There was a big celebration at the school for the Lantern Festival where the whole school took part in a Lantern Festival Temple fare! This was an amazing morning where many teachers and students set up stalls which included games or food. The students could enjoy the multiple games and food offered by these stalls. There was an impressive lion dance for everyone to watch! This was a whole family event with the students and their parents all taking part! Thank you to the parents who helped to run the stalls and to the parents to came to take part in the event!

During this month we have had the sports testing for the students. We had multiple activities to test their abilities. The students all did well in their balance, speed, throwing and agility. All the stations were made for the students to have fun while testing, and the students showed great improvements from the last time we did this. It was a fun and enjoyable morning everyone could enjoy!

During the month of March there was Women’s Day and the kindergarten made sure that it was celebrated! A great day to celebrate all the women in our lives, from our mothers, grandmother’s, sisters as well as our teachers! In the school the students made presents for the women in their lives and learnt how to say, ‘Happy Women’s Day!’ in English. Overall, a really great day here in the kindergarten.

As the month is coming to an end we can look back at the fun and exciting times we have had during March and the start of the new semester! With a big welcome back and lots of celebrations and back to school from winter break, there can only be more fun to be had!
