Travels--Visiting the Moon

Applying what students have learned to a speech or an article is a crucial step in demonstrating understanding and critical thinking.


During the learning periods for Grade 7 Module 2, we have read a diary by Jerry. He tells us something about his trip to space. And students have learned about the Moon. The Moon is around 380,000 kilometers from the Earth, so it’ll take Jerry about four days to get there. There’s no gravity in space, so they’ll all be able to float around in the spaceship. People there have to tie themselves to their beds so that they won’t float away in their sleep! Without gravity, their bodies may get weak, so they’ll have to do exercises every day.


The diary is about Space. After learning the passage, students need to apply what they have learned to introduce the space. They need to read more books on Space and have to make a poster to make a speech.
