Thanksgiving Day overtook the campus once again. It was great to open our doors and welcome you all back into the school and celebrate the year’s past blessings.

The children at Huamei got the chance to enjoy this annual festivity, not only with their classmates and teachers, but their parents too. Parents of each class worked together, to source the best Thanksgiving lunch Guangzhou has to offer. Each class enjoyed this occasion that took place in the canteen and we all sat around long tables adorned with snacks, party decorations, and most importantly deliciously seasoned turkey.

Many activities took place on this day, some students sang a celebratory song, while others spoke aloud telling each other what they were thankful for. The most important part was, everybody celebrated together and were truly thankful for what was laid before us.

Tina, a student from class 4:1 summed up the event perfectly in her journal. Let’s read what she had to say. Tina said ‘This Thursday was Thanksgiving and our school held an event. I am grateful to my mother, because she took care of me all my life, so I thanked her. We had turkey on Thanksgiving and it was very very  delicious. I think this Thanksgiving was very meaningful. Everybody was extremely happy!’
