As pointed out in English Curriculum Standards for Full-time Compulsory Education in General Senior High Schools the development of cooperative spirit is one of the main tasks of English curriculum in basic education. With the development of science and technology, the social division of labor is much clearer, and cooperation has become an ability more important than knowledge. The key to a successful career lies in cooperation. In response to the new curriculum reform, our school places high importance on cooperative learning. Here are my reflections.

 

Cooperative learning is an effective mode of education, which refers to the cooperation between teachers and students and among students. It requires teachers to use the psychological tolerance of cooperation properly to promote the development of students' comprehensive quality. In the process of teaching, I will rearrange the seats of students according to the teaching content, and the group is divided into units with six students in each one. The group leader is responsible for all learning activities. In English classroom teaching, I tend to ask students to discuss some problems in group and solve them jointly, so that every student can have the opportunity to express his own views. This can increase the practice opportunities for students and cultivate students' active thinking. In addition, it is necessary to stimulate the enthusiasm of individual students and promote cooperation among group members. When students learn through group cooperation, learning will become more enjoyable, thus stimulating their interest in learning and improving the efficiency of learning. Besides, cooperation should be oriented to all students, emphasize individual differences and meet the different needs of students.

 

In accordance with the philosophy advocated by the new curriculum reform, cooperative learning plays a great role in classroom teaching and significantly improves the teaching quality of teachers and the learning effects of students.
