As summer comes to an end, another semester begins at Huamei Kindergarten. September is a busy month for schools all over China and the world, as millions of returning and new students go back to school, Huamei Kindergarten is no exception. In the month of September, we have covered so much in such a short period of time, from our opening ceremony to welcoming new students to Huamei Kindergarten.

Before the festivities of the new school year begin, the teachers of Huamei Kindergarten return a week early for preparations. We start by scrubbing and cleaning the school from top to bottom to ensure maximum cleanliness. We then move on to our classroom preparation, making sure we have all the decorative boards ready for our new students. The final phase of preparation week is when we plan and produce all teaching materials for the coming semester and plan our teaching days.

The children had the chance to meet some of their favourite Disney princesses along with games to win some prizes.

We also have held our first parent-teacher conference in the school to great success, with teachers and parents getting a chance to meet each other. We started the day by having a presentation by principal Li, covering all aspects of the school and focusing on some of the key features of our IB curriculum. We then moved onto the kindergarten and took a tour of the different facilities that Huamei has to offer. Then, finally ending the day by the students’ parents meeting their new class teachers and teams.
