Narrator： Once upon a time, there was a king who often thought.[ king comes on stage]

King： Nothing good can come to a nation whose people only complain and expect others to solve their problems.

Narrator： One day, he had an idea. Early one morning, the king disguised himself and went to a local village. He placed a large stone in the middle of the main street and hid gold coins under the stone. Then he hid behind a huge maple tree and watched.[King comes on stage with the stone， then hid behind the maple tree]

[the milkman comes on stage， he falls to the ground and curses]

Milkman： What fool put this stone here？[he picks himself up and kicks the stone angrily and leaves the stage]

[two water women come on stage, one of them tripped over the stone and limed away in tears. Li falls to the ground and  Chen helps Li up]

Woman1 Li： OMG！ Who put the stone? I will curse him！[angry]

Woman2 Chen： It’s an unlucky day！[Chen helps Li go off the stage]

 [Everyone (except the king) comes on the stage to complain about the stone in the road and then comes off the stage]

Narrator： The king watched all day as many people complained about the stone, but he found nobody making an attempt to move it.

[the king comes back to the stage disappointedly ]

King： Is there no one in this village who feels any responsibility to keep their neighbors from harm？[the king goes off the stage]

Narrator： Just then, a young girl was coming along. She was very tired.

[the young girl comes to the stage]

Yang girl： Oh！This stone is a danger to anyone who comes down the street after dark. I’ll move it out of the way. [she makes a great effort to move the stone out of the road and the stone off the stage]

Yang girl： Oh！ There is some gold！ I must find the owner！

[King comes to the stage again]

Yang girl： Hi sir, does this gold belong to you？ If not we surely must find the owner for he will certainly miss it.

King： My dear, the gold is mine, I put it in the road and move the stone over it. Now the gold is yours.

Yang girl： Why？ It’s so valuable.

King： Because you are the only person who has learned the lesson I watched to teach my people.
