What an exciting month it has been. Huamei Kindergarten students celebrated Spring Egg Festival with an egg hunt. The children were so excited, walking around in the school, and outside in the garden looking for their coloured eggs. The school was also decorated with bright, colourful objects and posters.

The school arranged for the children to participate in activities, such as painting and decorating spring eggs and playing games connected to the Spring Egg Festival.

Together with the Spring Egg Festival the children learned and celebrated Qingming Festival. Huamei Kindergarten also added a new Foreign teacher, that completes the team and added to the children experiencing and learning about other foreign countries.

Huamei’s Chinese and Foreign teachers work hard every day, to create a learning environment for students, stimulating their interest and exposing them to different aspects and themes.

Huamei Kindergarten also prepared for two open houses. The first open house happened on the 15^th of April. Where prospective and current students participated and played interactive games both in Chinese as well as in English, with all the teachers from the kindergarten.

The day was a big success, the parents and children moved from one station to another, playing and having fun together. After everyone played the games, the students, parents and teachers were invited to eat lunch together in the Primary School canteen.

Huamei Kindergarten’s next open day was on the 22^nd of April. All the current parents from the school had a chance to observe and participate in the activities that were arranged in the different classes. The teachers made the lessons fun and interactive, showcasing the children’s abilities and improvement throughout the year. It was so much fun having the parents there to see how well the little ones were doing and also to be able to have parent-teacher interactions.

There is a busy time awaiting us at school. The children will start a New Unit of Inquiry, each level will focus on a different theme. The seniors and connection classes need to prepare for their graduation ceremony and the teachers of the two levels are working hard, to make sure the children are prepared and ready for Primary School.

We want to thank all the parents for their support, for helping the little ones to practice their English and Chinese skills at home. It is an important factor for the parents to be part of the children’s school lives. We as teachers in Huamei Kindergarten and parents work together to help shape and develop the children’s skills and potential to be lifelong learners and open their minds to all the possibilities that life will offer them.

We hope that the coming months will bring even more possibilities for the children to develop and learn while having fun. The coming months will be full and a lot of fun, and we can’t wait to share the wonderful and exciting things with everyone.

With the Labour Day holidays approaching, we wish everyone safe travels and enjoy the time with family and friends.
