A good teacher will influence a lot of students. As a teacher, we should do well in what we are teaching. Teachers are the people students learn knowledge from, which means that they should be skillful in teaching. We ought to improve ourselves and need to teach students different methods. Always, we should learn to change our teaching methods including giving more time to students to do more practice in English. Also, teachers should be good at getting along with students, which will result in good class atmosphere. It is important to love our jobs and our students, and care for each student.

In addition, “Teachers are engineers of human souls” is a Chinese saying which suggests that teachers are not only responsible for students’ knowledge but also responsible for students’ moral development. Perhaps English language teaching doesn’t seem an important area for moral learning. However, as far as I am concerned, English teaching is sometimes associated with social values and it involves reading passages which provide wonderful opportunities for students to focus on moral values. Therefore, it is essential for us teachers to pay great attention to this aspect during our teaching and aim for a better development of students, not only in knowledge, skills and abilities but in values, attitudes and emotions.

A teacher is like a guider. It is necessary for a teacher to know how to guide the students to act their role well. A good teacher does not only just focus on the subject what he or she teaches, but how to let students make great progress in their life. Teaching is a glorious career in the world, and it takes one a long way to be a good teacher. As a teacher, I will always try my best to do the job well.
