PBL exploration of immersive experience

This is the PBL exhibition of Huamei primary school. The works and achievements we haveworked hard for the whole semester are displayed here!               

We explore the world along the context of Guangfu culture in Huamei.

With the clue of "the regional characteristics of Guangfu cultural festival tradition ", students explored the Mid- Autumn Festival works of art in Guangfu traditional festivals.

The students made a bilingual invitation letter and questionnaire for the Mid-Autumn Festival and invited international teachers to participate in the moon-cake party. They could also introduce the Mid-Autumn Festival in English and promote Chinese traditional culture and festivals all over the world.

In the theme exploration class of foreign teachers, students drew models and pictures of the moon to explore the changes of the moon phase. Students also made lanterns for the Mid-Autumn Festival. There are lantern riddles on the hand-made lanterns. They introduced the customs, legends and delicious food of the Mid- Autumn Festival in the form of mind map.

In order to sing Cantonese Opera well, students went to the Cantonese Opera Museum to learn about Cantonese opera. While consulting materials and reading books,students learned the Cantonese Opera "six pillars" and made character cards to display and report in groups. In addition, students also explored the costumes, musical instruments, singing and famous actors of Cantonese opera.They also learned about the representative operas of Cantonese opera.

Students put on costumes and sang Cantonese opera to experience the charm of Cantonese opera. They designed English cloth handbags with Cantonese Opera elements to introduce Cantonese Opera in English. The students also invited foreign teachers to learn to sing Cantonese Opera in English.

Huamei students introduced the classics and origins of Cantonese opera, and became a small promoter of Guangfu culture!

Little architect: From color to 3D Huamei Campus

What color can represent your character？What's your class badge like?

Through the principles of color psychology, students learned the representative color of their own character . They also realized their advantages and areas that they need to be improved. The students applied their skills and jointly designed a unique class badge to show the common pursuit and sense of belonging of the class. 

In addition to designing the class badge, Huamei small designers cooperated to make a mini Huamei campus with light clay.

After giving full play to their strengths and feeling the strength of their own and their team, the relationship among students have been better and better. Taking advantage of this, the teacher led the children to learn the concept of understanding others, caring for others, helping others and being grateful to others. Let children learn to understand others and care for others in the way they can, which will have a profound impact on their lives.

Bilingual menu

Do you want to make delicious food? Huamei students’ homemade bilingual menu can help you!

China is a big country which has a lot of delicious food since ancient times, and ancient poems also described a lot of food.

Students explored around the eight major Chinese cuisines. They started with their favorite dishes, wrote down the cooking methods of delicacies in Chinese and English, and compiled a Huamei exclusive recipe.

Huamei kids showed their homemade recipes and introduced the cooking methods. In addition to writing the production method into the recipe and translating it into English, Huamei students also went to the kitchen to make delicious dishes according to the recipe to ensure that the recipe can help people make delicious dishes!

Do you really know yourself?

Around the theme of "who are we", students carried out exploration activities such as "Self introduction", "I am a primary school student", "To the future me".

By making self portraits with colored clay, Huamei students had a clearer and deeper understanding of themselves ! In addition, children also explored the components of the human body and learnt to express body parts in English.

After understanding the human body and creating self portraits, the students also wrote a letter to their future self, which was full of children's expectations for their future.

The next PBL exhibition will be more wonderful. Please look forward to it.
