The effectiveness of English teaching in primary schools

The effectiveness of English teaching inprimary schools reminds us that we must provide students with a platform forflexible application of English, so that students can feel the pleasure ofsuccessfully using the language to achieve a certain goal. This is decided bythe age characteristics of primary school students and the particularity ofEnglish subject. Here are some effective methods of Primary School Englishteaching.

I. Arouse students' audio-visual senses in multi-mediaways.

Multimedia teaching can help transplantsituation vividly and reproduce the dialogue of space and time. It combinesaudio and visual materials which attract children. It will also deepenstudents' understanding of the language and help students establish aconnection between the language and the ideas that they want to express, whichinvolves students in the English communication.

II. Leaning how to Sing English songs, tellEnglish jokes, stories, tongue twisters, riddles, do drama performances and soon.

Most primary school students love singing,play games and other interesting activities in class. Sometimes, theintegration of music and English in English teaching can help studentsunderstand the dialogue more. For example: How many books do you have? How manybooks do you have, do you have, do you have? I have three. I have five... Withmovement and singing, students learn the sentences very easily. English jokesand English stories should be not only told by teachers, but also by studentsthemselves, so that students can feel the fun of learning and improve learningefficiency.

 

III. Design learning situations that areclose to their daily life.

When teaching the content of Go shopping.We can create a situation of shopping. We can let students act asshop-assistants and customers. They can let them follow the dialogue pattern tomake a conversation by themselves so that they can find out what problems theywill face when going shopping. The students not only apply the new knowledge totheir life, but also understand the knowledge more.
