March Newsletter-Welcome Back!
Shared :

Welcome Back! We hoped that everyonehad a restful and meaningful time with friends and family during the winterholiday.

Last February, we were visited byquite roar-some guests. Yes! The Lion dance! The playful and comical lions, accompanied by the lively sounds of drums, gong, and cymbals, signified thefestivity of the opening ceremony of this semester. It was indeed a fascinatingexperience to share with our students. There were joy and laughter. It was alsotruly amusing to see how the curious little hands tried to reach the lion’s colorful costumes.

UOI

Seniors and Connections

They say March has the best weather inGuangzhou and I might have to agree on this. The weather was pleasant, thoughmildly cool with a gentle breeze (with some occasional downpours!). For thesenior students, it was the perfect time to start a new UOI, Living Things. Amonth into the second semester, they have learned about the life cycles ofliving things, such as rice, chicken, and human life cycles.

Come and visit our little garden! Wehad learned how to plant seeds of tomatoes, green peppers, and chilies; we alsowatered them regularly and proudly watched as they grew. We also had turtles, tadpoles, and silkworms in our classrooms!

The students were fascinated to learnhow living things grow through these hands-on learning experiences.

Medium

Our Medium students learned theimportance of having a healthy lifestyle, starting from choosing healthy foodand activities over unhealthy ones. In our IB classes, students were guided bythe teachers in understanding different food and activities and classifyingthem as healthy or unhealthy. For example, the students were able to understandthat eating vegetables and fruit is healthy and that they should also exercise regularly to be healthy.

Juniors

Our youngest students, Junior classes, were introduced to different kinds of vehicles and how they are closelyinterrelated to our lives. Through various engaging learning activities, students were able to identify which vehicles travel by lands, air, and sea. Wehad fun exploring our school on a mission to find cars, buses, bicycles, etc.The students also did amazing in learning how to assemble model airplanes, andsome even were very good at trying to fly them.
