On the 25^th of August, HuameiSchool held the orientation for all the New International Teachers in theMeeting Room at the Administration Building. Dr. Rocky Chen, the GeneralPrincipal gave the warmest welcome to all the new teachers and gave aintroduction of school’s history, mission and vision. After that, Ms. SereneChen, the Director of English teaching and international Programs talked aboutthe education values gave teachers a big picture of school curriculum.

To help new teachers get familiar with theschool and understand the school culture better, an ice breaking activity isorganized after the speech. Teachers are put into different groups and eachgroup received a piece of paper with questions. They had to work as team,walked around the campus and found out the answers within the 20 minutes. Thisactivity prepared teachers with basic knowledge of the school and built therapport with the colleagues.

After the ice breaking activity, Ruyi Zeng,the director of IEO introduced the laws and regulations that applied toforeigners live and work in China. Some foreigner teacher representative alsogave useful tips about the cross cultural communication at work.

In the afternoon, new teachers went todifferent department for more specific orientation. Good luck with the teachersand hope teachers could in Huamei, make a leap every single day.
