Dear teachers and schoolmates:

    Good afternoon! My topic is "Technology and Reason".

    As we all know, the inventions that people developed, have a great influence on our daily life, which made our lives become more different from what they were in the past.

    High–speed railway, Alipay, shared–bikes and online shopping are called "The new four inventions" of China by most of foreign youths who even want to bring them back to their countries. From this point, we can learn about how much they benefit from technologies.

    People now are able to travel to anther city without spending a great deal of time. With the Alipay, people can pay money more conveniently than paying in cash. What's more, whoever pays the bills online can get the rights to use shared–bikes if he wants. Also, shopping online is of benefit for us. It seems that we can buy things from every corners of the world. In a word, technology makes our lives more convenient and efficient.

    Conversely, we are facing some challenges because of technological development. For example, it makes some of us lazy because life is too comfortable. And many unnecessary inventions are producing negative effects on a living style that used to be relatively simple, which causes traditional skills and simple ways of life are fading away, never to return again. That's why there are also a number of people urge to save the traditional cultures.

    From my point of view, we should use technologies with our reasons. I believe that if we can correctly use the technology, it then is not an invisible sword, but is a good assistant to improve our lives and countries.
