September was an unusualstart to the year for students, parents and teachers alike. Having to socialdistance from each other, checking our temperature and wearing masks outsidewas new to most of us. But as always we learn to adapt and deal with new issueseach and everyday.

It was wonderful to seeour old students returning to school after so many months not seeing each otherbut also just as wonderful to see so many new faces coming to our kindergarten.A new school for a Junior student can be a very frightening experience, butthey soon find friends and start enjoying their new school life in HMISK.

In IB this month ourJunior groups are learning about their five senses, what they are, how we usethem and the ways our senses effect our daily life. Medium groups are learningabout life style and healthy options, keeping a balanced diet and how ourlife-styles effect our mental and physical health. Seniors groups are learningabout different cultures around the world, understanding and respecting other culturesand learning about their own culture and motherland.

Also this month we celebrated National Day. Thiswas an amazing day for all here in the kindergarten as it gave our students thechance to wear and show off their traditional clothes to all. Our students hada catwalk show where they would show off and make a cute or funny pose. Ourlocal teachers also did a beautiful poem about Chinese and you could feel theirlove and warmth for their own country which radiated to all our students andInternational teachers alike. Our students took every opportunity to show theircolorful and beautiful clothes off their International teacher with pride whichwas wonderful to see. It is always a great day here in the Huamei kindergarten.
