When we bid farewell to each other, it wasstill in severe winter. Beyond our expectation, the tender month of April hasarrived when we returned. Finally, two months of online lessons drew a perfectfull stop. Filled with anticipation, Huamei junior high school students packedup and embarked on a journey back to school.

At 8 a.m. of May 11, the principal andteachers have been waiting at the main school gate, continuously inspectingevery step of students’ entry. With masks, they guided students into the campusin an orderly manner. Here, there are not only dear teachers and classmates,but also careful school doctors, school police and other staff. The long holiday has ended. An orderlycampus life is approaching at the front. Long-lost bell will ring in eachstudent’s ears. Sitting in the classroom, familiar partners around, resonantvoice from teachers on the podium and chalk marks on the blackboard are whatall students have extremely pined for during the online class period. Afterclass, students come to the dining hall in a quite methodical way. Everyone’stemperature is taken before entering the canteen. Masks must be worn whenwaiting in line. A separate cubicle is set for every student to avoid talkingto their neighbors while he or she is having dinner.
