The month of May carried many happynews; cases of the coronavirus had lowered in all of China as well as in ourhome city of Guangzhou; after many difficult months we were at last seeing theresults of all our hard work and effort; life has started to normalize,restaurants open, parks open, and schools begin the process to begin again.First it started with high school, and schools all around Guangzhou, includingour Huamei School, began preparations to welcome back our older sisters andbrothers. With lots of dedication and determination the staff created a safe,clean and happy environment for our older friends. The process to recommenceschool was a success and soon middle school and primary school followed. Theteachers and staff were all joyful and excited to see all the students back;the hallways of our school was full of life and laughter once more and everyonewas proud of this accomplishment. All that was missing were our little friendsover in the kindergarten.

We have all been awaiting the news thatit is safe for our kindergarten to recommence again; we have all been eager tosee all our students back ready to play, learn and grow. All the teachers havebeen planning ahead in preparation for our students arrival and at last on May19^th of 2020 the grand news we had been awaiting arrived, Startingon June 2^nd of 2020 kindergartens are deemed safe to open onceagain. We are all excited to see all of the little ones back and continue theirpath in growing and learning. Unfortunately not all of the foreign teachers asmyself included will not be able to make it back for opening day, we are allvery saddened to not be able to see the little faces of our student and eagerlywait for the news that we can travel back; for now thanks to technology we willbe providing lessons and support from abroad. We are very happy with thecurrent progress seen in the month of May and hope the rest of the months thisyear carry as joyful news as May has. Here is to a great start of June,beginning with the re-opening of our school. We will see you all very soon.
