For most people, one of the joys of living in China is the food! In Guangzhou, the variety is endless, the quality is excellent, and the price is right.

There are good restaurants in the Tianhe area, but many more spread throughout the city. Chinese food from every province and region, Thai, Korean, Japanese, Italian, Middle-East, Indian, Latin American and American can be found easily. Restaurant exploration is more than a hobby for many of our faculty.  In addition, for Western “fast foodies” there are many Pizza Hut, Subway, KFC and McDonald’s outlets, and there are a growing number of Starbucks branches.

It is recommended that fruit and vegetables be washed thoroughly, but there doesn’t seem to be a need to soak them in any kind of disinfectant solution. Some people shy away from raw vegetables at first, but washing them in bottled water is generally sufficient.
