LAM FELIX SI-HENG
Born and raised in New Zealand, Felix has teaching blood in his veins, often accompanying his father as a young child to the university, who has been a professor of statistics for decades. Felix developed a passion for language education during his teenage years, studied German, Linguistics, and a Graduate Diploma in Second Language Teaching.
Starting his teaching career in 2012, he began teaching in Guangzhou, China from 2014. Since arriving, Felix has taught English to students of all ages from kindergarten to retirees, and worked in a variety of roles as a trainer, team leader, and director. He has received numerous awards in his career, such as the most service-minded teacher in the Guangzhou region and star education manager in China.
Felix most enjoys seeing the growth in young learners linguistically and holistically. His teaching philosophy revolves around students feeling engaged, understanding, and learning. When these three areas are achieved, a strong English learning environment is fostered, which assists students developing into curious, autonomous, and passionate lifelong learners. In his leisure time, Felix enjoys playing sports, singing, and reading.
Felix leaves you with this quote: “Having been in Guangdong since 2014, I consider Guangzhou my second home. I love this city, the people, the culture, and Cantonese food especially dim sum. It is an honour to carry out the international team leader role at Huamei Kindergarten, serving teachers, students, and parents”.

KOK TANYA
Hello, my name is Tanya. I am all the way from South Africa where I grew up with my parents and two older siblings.
As a child I have always seen my mom go to school in the morning, as she was a teacher at a Primary School for almost 30 years. She inspired me into becoming an educator, enriching the lives of young ones and seeing how the children develop, become more confident in themselves and how they would shine with the possibilities of what the future may hold.
When I grew up, I dreamt of working overseas but, never in my wildest dreams did I think that I would end up in Asia, getting to know the most friendliest, hospitable and warm-hearted people. I enjoy the culture of China, the food from the different provinces and cities, and got to participate in various festivities and celebrations which I found very inspiring and endearing.
I started my teaching career in 2015, teaching in Hangzhou, China. Where I moved on to Hong Kong, then Vietnam and ultimately back to China where I have been working for the past 4 years. I have experience teaching all levels from the age of 2 years old to high school students and adults. Living in China has opened my mind about all the possibilities that is out there and how I can influence young minds and prepare them for the big, unfamiliar world.
My goal is to create life-long learners, broaden their minds to think not only of today, but of everything that they can and want to accomplish in life. Children needs to be encouraged so that they can become independent, self-sufficient and successful. My goal as a teacher is to develop those instincts and aspirations, that teaches them about all the possibilities, how they can achieve success and to never give up on their dreams.
