On May 12^th,our lovely international teachers have organized a party for “Amy’s Baby Shower”, one of our high school program teacher, and who is going to give a birth to her baby around June 12^th.         

In some countries, a baby shower is a way to celebrate the pending or recent birth of a child by presenting gifts to the mother at a party, whereas other cultures host a baby shower to celebrate the transformation of a woman into a mother. We have arrived at the meeting point at 7 pm where Russian restaurant which sever pizza, drinks, fruit and vegetables. The teachers have spent great effort to decorate the dining room where we sent baby gifts, played games, and chatted together.

The food and the atmosphere were great.  Amy and her husband were surprised with all of the arrangements. Our big star, Tiffany, who is also a middle school program teacher, she stated clearly the rules of games what we were going to play. She handed out each one a clip, and requires us not to say the world “Baby”, otherwise, someone else could steal your clip right away, andthe winner would be the one who got the most clips in the end of the party.

During that time, there was several fun games well organized, like fill in the gap of childhood rhythm,choice questions, and vocabulary of baby items and so on. We were deeply immersed in those awesome activities. We have gained and learnt many things relate to baby. Of course, that person who won in each round of game could pickup a gift they want on the desk.

Time fillies, in the end, we all took turns to send our best wishes to Amy and her coming baby, and also wrote our greetings in a book to memorize those moments we have known and met each other at Huamei. It was really a wonderful night for us to gather together after work, particularly for those who haven’t experience the culture of Baby shower. We feel like that anyone of this group at Huamei like a member of our big family, we support and help each other. We laugh and enjoy the time we have spent or are going to spend together.
