My Impressions of EUL in UBC

ZHOU Huiting

As everyone knows, UBC is famous allover the world for its well education, beautiful campus. This summer, I got achance to experience university life in UBC.

I've always dreamed of being in such an amazinguniversity. This is the third week since I arrived here. In the past two weeks,I accomplished EUL2 program. The most impressive courses for me was aboutSustainability &Environment. That was the most difficult course I've evertaken, I promise. The academic words our professor used were hard for me tounderstand. I could hardly understand what he said, so it almost drove me mad.But luckily I had some other classes that were much easier, I learned about theinterview skills, study skills, presentation skills and so on. I realized lotsof things that I've never seen before and I felt honored and thankful.

When looking back on the past two weeks, Ifound there were so many unforgettable moments I want to share. We  wentto many places in Vancouver , such as the Robson Square, Granville island,Kitsilano Beach, Gastown, and so on... Besides, we also took a trip toVictoria. That was a long journey because we took the BC Ferries to get there! The first place we went in Victoria is the University of Victoria. One of ourmonitors named Saki studied there before. This university is large andspectacular as well. But in my opinion, UBC is more beautiful than it. After visiting the University of Victoria, we went to the downtown andwent shopping there. I bought a jacket and some delicate souvenirs to memorizethe trip. In addition, I tried something new to me. That was ice-skating. Itwas my first time to go ice skating. Fortunately, I learned it quickly. Thebest feelings from skating was freedom, nothing but freedom in my head. I feltin love with it! Moreover, I found some handsome guys playing hockey when I prepared to skate! That was really unbelievable to see people playing it infront of me in real life! All I could feel through them was their passion forhockey. What brilliant and talented players they were!

Canada is a place which is full ofsurprise. It has already brought so much happiness to me. I have felt the spectacular charm and beauty inside this country. I love Vancouver, and I love Canada.
