Nowadays, many fish production systems in the world use antibiotics for the purpose of selling more fishes and earn moremoney. As everyone knows, antibiotic is harmful to the fishes. However, in many fish production systems, the fishermen use antibiotics to facilitate fishes ’growth and avoid fishes getting sick as well. But in Yunnan,China,there’s a district called Linxiang. There people mainly develops the fresh water fishery. People there attach importance to environmental production, which means their fish breeding is without antibiotics or other medicines.

In Linxiang, there are three kinds of fishbreeding: net cage breeding, pond breeding and running water fish breeding. I’mgoing to talk about the third breeding, running water fish breeding. It meansthat fishes there are often fed in running water includes stream, river,reservoir, mountain spring and so on. The water flow can dissolve the oxygen inthe water and clean the feces. So the high-quality water helps create good condition for fishes. That is tosay, it benefits fishes’ growth.

Linxiang District uses different methods tofacilitate the diversified development of fishes. For example, they teach thefarmers who live near the river about some skills and let them develop net cage fish breeding. For farmers who live in the highland, they encourage them todevelop running water fish breeding through using mountain spring and stream.Besides, they also bring in various fish species which come from different countries.

Second, the district has already set up two fishbreeding bases. One is for the breeding of Macrobrachium Rosenbergii, which isa kind of fresh water prawn. The other one is for the breeding of rainbow trout.These two breeding bases show that more and more famous kinds of fishes are bred there.

Third, some big companies entered the districtand developed ecological fishery there because of the nice environment andeffective breeding. Their fish products are popular with local people and theyare also sold in different areas. So the freshwater fishery in Yunnan gradually became well-known.

All in all, the fresh water fishery in Yunnan is ecological,natural, safe and successful.
