The International Class of Huamei hosted an International Mother Language Day celebration on Tuesday, February21^st. International Mother Language Day is a world recognized holiday, the main purpose of celebrating this day is to promote the awareness of  language and cultural diversity all across the world.

It also reminds us ofthe importance of being able to speak many different languages, like so many ofour students do here at Huamei International School, we have students from Korea, Vietnam, Thailand, Peru, the Philippines, Venezuela, Bangladesh etc. They all choose Chinese as their second or third language.

We have a really funday, playing games, learning others’ mother languages, listening to the music in different languages, and we made a big poster with the different languages writing and with the national flags. The students are learned about this important holiday and are proud of showing their mother languages as well asshowing their respect to others.

In Huamei International School, it is sure thatthe foreign students would learn one more powerful instrument---Chinese, and quality multilingual education really contributes to achieving sustainable futures.
