GIA Assembly Grade 7 Class 2
Shared :

Preparedby: Jonathan Tragash

On March 30th,the middle school students in grade 7 class 2 GIA put on an amazing assembly for the rest of the program.  The topic for this assembly was ‘Bullying and making good choices’.  The students and Mr. Paulsen worked really hard to develop scenarios and short skits to perform for the rest of the program.  The most powerful skit was about a popular girl, Harmony, and her friends; the girl picked on a few of the other students.  At the end of the skit Harmony was abandoned by her friends. The boys that she had picked on decided to forgive and help her.  This skit really exemplifies the essence ofthe GIA Journey to Excellence.  It is great to see the students working with such integrity.

In addition to the skits, the class prepared a panel discussion for the teachers.  Both International and Chinese teachers shared their ideas about how they would react to certain situations.  It was great to hear the range of suggestions and experiences with bullying.  The students in the audience were great collaborators in the assembly.  They engaged in small group discussion and put forth ideas as well.

These assemblies are a great chance for students to have a discussion and show offall of the life skills they have learned. The teachers have done a great job preparing the students for the bullies in the real world.  I am certainthey will approach life with dignity, honor, respect and integrity.  Congratulations GIA grade 7 class 2 on anexcellent assembly!
