April is a Reading celebration for theyoung minds of Huamei GIC’s Primary School. Books make it possible to escape reality andjoin a whole new community of fantastic characters and creatures on adventuresin and out of this world. They also give us the opportunity to exploredifferent cultures and delve into the minds of great thinkers on our path tobecoming global citizen.  By reading, ourstudents are able to see question how their DHRI values of dignity, honor,respect and integrity give them a place in society. 

Generating interest and excitement in avariety of different literature from an early age is integral to the success ofour students. Reading an additional 10 minutes a day generates over “a 200%increase in word exposure over a year.”   

Byshowing our excitement to the world of literature, the teachers in GIC hope toset the students on the right path. Through our enthusiasm they become enthusiastic.  Through this crisis that is facing the worldit is important for the GIC to stay positive and inspire.  Across the globe, from China to South Africato Europe to North and South America, the GIC teachers collaborated to share apositive message with students around the world.  Keep reading and exploring and before you know it, we will be reunited back at our beautiful campus of Huamei International School!
