A. Profile of the Program
The school has been committed to the school mission “integrating eastern and western educational philosophies, nurturing Chinese modern elites”. To further implement this mission, together with a well-chosen Canadian educational organization, the school started the Gifted Program in high school (Senior Program) in 2005 and in the middle school (Junior Program) in 2009. Currently, this program has been optimized and upgraded. The school is now cooperating with American Griggs International Academy (GIA) at the middle school section and with some American High Schools at the high school section. This program aimed at helping the students lay a solid foundation in both academic studies and cross-cultural understanding and communicative abilities by the offering of integrated curricula of both complete Chinese secondary school curricula and select American school English /Communication courses. As a result, eligible graduates will have more access and opportunities to the national top universities and well-known overseas universities. In addition, the school has signed a Green-Path Agreement with American California Baptist University to help the non-program students with the intention of studying for an American university degree.
The past nineyears saw substantial growth of the Program. Recently in order to meet thestudents’ needs of all around development and to enable them to have moreaccess to universities home and abroad, the program positioning and curricular havebeen updated. The layout for the whole program is shown in the chart below.

The past yearshave witnessed continued success of graduates of this program. Most of thestudents were admitted by top universities in China and overseas, and they arenow doing well in their studies or careers all over the world. Within theschool, the program is developing substantially; this fall, we are going toplace the senior program students into two tracks: one track is oriented toquality universities abroad; the other is oriented to China National CollegeEntrance Examination with featured English education. The curricular componentsand hour allocation for both tracks have been tailored for the students’ needsand future development through discussion of both parties.
